I won't profess to be a garden photographer - to be honest, I couldn't tell the difference between a lily and a dandelion - but I know a good garden when I see one! This particular garden in Ham, near Richmond, is absolutely idyllic and probably the envy of all the neighbours. Benni, the proud owner, asked me in passing if I wouldn't mind taking some photos for a garden competition she was entering. Unfortunately I only had a small compact digital camera on me at the time but they came out well I thought. You might be interested to know, in true olympic fashion, she went on to win the Gold medal!

If we had a pound for every person who came through our doors professing to be unphotogenic, we'd have built up enough spare change to get the kitchen refitted! I firmly believe everyone can look good in front of the camera with a little encouragement, some gentle direction, some flattering lighting and a degree of skill behind the camera.
