Child portraits

Every week Angela comes round to clean my flat and brings her young daughter Stephanie with her. I couldn't resist taking a couple of shots while Angela was busy cleaning and decided to give her the black and white prints as a surprise. I'm hoping this means I can leave some dirty dishes in the sink and not feel so guilty!

Happy 90th Birthday!

We photograph a variety of different events - some times they are corporate affairs but more often than not, they're social gatherings from weddings and christenings to parties and family get-togethers. This particular family event was in aid of the head of the family who happened to be celebrating her 90th birthday no less! Looking at the photos, you'd never have guessed she's ten years shy of a century!

We arrived after lunch and stayed for just over 3 hours. In that time, we were able to take plenty of very natural reportage shots of everyone enjoying themselves in the garden. Every now and again, we took family members to one side to take their individual portrait. So not only did we capture the event itself but hopefully they'll each have something they'll want to hang on the wall as well.

At intimate events like this, it's important not to completely over shadow the occasion and start to dominate proceedings. That's why we always try to be as unobtrusive as possible, not just out of respect for the host but also because we know from experience that that's the best way to get most natural looking photographs!

Corporate portraits needn't be stiff

Taking corporate portraits or headshots needn't be a stiff affair. Nic approached us because she actually wanted some professional photos which looked more relaxed and contemporary than the norm. She's frequently asked to be a guest speaker at a number of conferences so it's important she projects the right image. We took a mix of formal and informal shots so that she had a good range to choose from.

She tried to warn us before the shoot that she's never any good in front of the camera. Well, we beg to differ!

Kid's parties

When you put the time and effort into throwing a party for your children, it can be a great idea to hire a professional photographer to properly record the day as it unfolds.

If you were to hire us, we'll make sure we capture those special moments and leave you with a beautiful collection of photographs for you to enjoy for many years to come.

We take a fly-on-the-wall approach so most of the time they hardly notice we're there. But we can also bring some portable studio lighting along with us if you like the idea of creating some stunning informal portraits at the same time. It can be a fun experience for the kids as long as it doesn't take too long or detract from the main event.

We pride ourselves in providing a premium service, so every photo we supply will meet strict QC standards. Each photo is meticulously retouched to ensure we only supply images of the highest standard. We'll also post them online in our Private View gallery so that all the parents (and granparents for that matter) can view and order prints from the day. You also have the option of having all the images supplied on disk or even designed in a leather bound book for safekeeping!
